Well, there are a few symbols of the city that have gained international fame like the 7 star luxury hotel, Burj Al Arab or the Tower of the Arbas and Burj Khalifa or the tallest man-made structure in the world. But what we have here today gives the place a totally new image. It’s Dubai swimming among clouds. So, if you happen to be at the right time, Dubai offers you the possibility to walk above the clouds.

How’s that possible? Take a trip to one of the tallest buildings there, the Tower of Arabs, reach its 85^th floor and you can get a new view of the famous city. Ok, so you may say that this is not that much of a big deal. You are very likely to change your opinion after checking the pictures below. What you get is incomparable. A whole city dressed in clouds, the impressive buildings piercing the clouds and still looking so small next to them.

Thanks to German photographer Sebastian Opitz, we can now enjoy such a view. It wasn’t easy to capture this momentous occasion as the thick fog we see is so rare in Dubai. Actually, it occurs only a few times a year and evaporates quite rapidly. Tons of patience and dedication are needed besides a good camera and impressive photography skills.

So, Opitz got up at 4 a.m., took a trip to the 85^th floor of the well-known building and skillfully captured these almost surreal images and moments. And that is definitely something you don’t see every day. You can see such a different world from up there. Well, we can only thank Opitz for offering us the possibility to see how Dubai looks from the above when the clouds are dancing with the tops of the skyscrapers. Enjoy!

Therefore, if you plan a vacation this fall and your girlfriend has a very soft spot for flowers (which is most probably), then make sure your agenda includes Holland. What you get to see there is literally jaw-dropping.

The Bloemencorso flower festival in Zundert is a splendiferous display of colors and many many hours of work. Held from 1936, the festival enchants the public every 1st Sunday of September. What makes this festival even more beautiful is the fact that the construction of all you get to see there is totally volunteer and non-commercial.

Every year, 20 floats of hundreds of dahlias arranged in spectacular and gigantic sculptures become the starts of this festival. Since only dahlias are used and since they can’t stay fresh for too long, they are added on the impressive structures just a weekend before the festival.

Many locals say that this event is addictive. And if you’re into beauty, art, colors and flowers, then this festival is a reward! If you’re not sure about it yet, then just try the pictures below. A festival like this is the perfect mood booster. It simply reboots you! The pictures so deliciously changed my plans for this fall!

Porto Alegre is the town where you get to see probably the most beautiful street in the world. The street of Rua Gonçalo de Carvalho is home to almost one hundred tipuana trees. It was 70 years ago that they were planted there by the German employees of a former brewery site. Stretching approximately 500 meters, the trees give us probably the most beautiful view of a street.

The shadow the splendiferous trees offer is a reward for the people living in Brazil as they have plenty of sun there. Plus, living next to big trees may be just like a vacation to some people. And you get to have a walk in this wondrous forest right in the middle of this large city.

Back in 2005, trees were cut down to make space for a shopping center. Most people living there were very displeased with that and their insistence and arguments determined mayor José Fogaça to sign a decree that made the street “historical, cultural and environmental heritage of the city.”

A walk among these trees enchants your eyes and relaxes your mind giving you the feeling that you’re in vacation. And you’re right in the middle of a quite a crowded city. The pictures say it all! A must-see indeed!

The park is located in the region of Pilbara being the second largest park in Australia as it covers 2,422 square miles. This area rewards its visitors with 8 stunning gorges, the impressive Hamersley Mountain Range as well as high peaks and cliffs dressed in lush vegetation. The incredible landscape is over two billion years old.

The gorges and the cliffs are perfect for hikers and explorers. Still, utmost attention is to be given when going for some adventure here as accidents are very likely to occur along the steep gorges.

The rich and diverse wildlife makes the place even more desirable when it comes to holiday destinations. You get to encounter 133 species of birds and 92 species of reptiles and amphibians. Legless lizards, pythons, goannas, spinifex pigeons and wedgetail eagles and mammals such as echidnas, red kangaroos, bats, rock-wallabies and wallaroos are a few of those who have their home here. Botanists will find interesting things to see here as well such as spinifex and porcupine grass, cadjeputs and gum trees.

As you can very well see in these pictures, the place is worth every second. The diverse wildlife, the wondrous vegetation, the amazing geology, the sparkling waterfalls are the reasons why Karijini National Park should be on your must-see list. Yes, it’s sheer lunacy to explore the inside of an active volcano. You may go for a dormant one if you must do that but normally, dormant volcanoes offer no access inside them since they are plugged up with solidified lava. This is what happens normally. There is one exception though and that is Thrihnukagigur volcano in Iceland.

Iceland is the land of volcanoes and is very well-known for the eruptions that took place there. The volcano we’re talking about is unique and special even for a country like Iceland which has a dominant volcanic landscape. It offers scientists the great possibility to run geological studies that no other place on Earth offers and thrill seekers the unique chance to explore the inside of a volcano. Not recommended to claustrophobic people though.

Discovered in 1974, Thrihnukagigur volcano has been dormant for the last 4000- years. It was only in 1991 that the volcano was fully explored and mapped out. This makes it possible now for tourists and scientists to enjoy, admire and explore the inside of the volcano. There is a 4×4-meter opening that offers access to the magma center which drops down 120 meters below the surface.

What’s great about experiencing this volcano is that the way to it is a rather thrilling journey itself. So, you get to enjoy Thrihnukagigur after hiking for 45 minutes or so to the volcano. The trip is rewarding anyways as you get to see volcanic fields and cones as well as gas tunnels. And that is something you don’t get to see too often. Unless you’re living in Iceland and you’re “volcano-minded”. Once you reach the volcano, gather all your courage and attention to begin this unique experience. A special lift will lower you into Thrihnukagigur.

Now, you may ask yourself what makes a trip like this such an adrenaline-booster. Well, keep in mind that it is a dormant volcano after all. If it hasn’t erupted in a long time, it doesn’t mean it won’t erupt again. Not to mention an earthquake. Even so, there are many explorers and beauty seekers that find the wondrous scenery inside the volcano worth taking this risk.

The interior walls of the volcano are an amazing display of colors that make Thrihnukagigur look like a kaleidoscope. All these colors are actually the minerals within the volcanic rock.

Plans regarding the future of this now tourist attraction include the construction of a tunnel that would offer access to the chamber. If you’re anxious to set foot there, be sure that the lift is just perfect to go for. So, time to revise the “must-see” list! The name of this surreal place means salt flat in Spanish. Its 10,582 square kilometers make it the largest salt flat in the world. Located in southwest Bolivia, Salar de Uyuni was part of Lake Minchin, a prehistoric lake that occupied the area some 30,000–42,000 years ago. The lake dried leaving behind two salt deserts (Salar de Uyuni and Salar de Coipasa) and two modern lakes (Uru Uru and Poopo).

A place to lose yourself in its blueness and whitenes

This place is a magnet for superlatives. It is the largest salt flat in the world, it is the best spot to calibrate satellites and it houses the biggest lithium reserve in the world which is half of the world’s lithium reserve. A salt crust of a few meters covers the place which is what makes it so flat. The place seems to get even more beautiful than it already is when the rainy season begins. The water transforms the whole place into a shallow pool and the largest mirror on Earth. Take that and combine it with an astounding sunset and you get one of the most beautiful things you get to experience.

A place to relax

Even though the place stands out through its remoteness, you will get to see that it’s quite popular. Besides the great number of tourists giving the place a try, there are the miners who work here to produce 25,000 tons of salt every year. The method used to harvest the salt is the traditional one. Thus, you may see small mounds of piled up salt left so in order for the water to evaporate. The salt is then dried over fire and before being sent for packaging, it is being enriched with iodine.

A place where there’s no beginning and no ending

What makes this place the best one to calibrate satellites is the dry air, the fact that during the rainy season the surface has a high reflectivity, the clear skies, the smooth surface as well as the minimal elevation deviation. All these make the place great for satellite calibration and better than the surface of the ocean.

A walk on and over the clouds

You can jump through the clouds or simply enjoy such a gigantic mirror where it’s like there’s no horizon line. You can enjoy the endless sky, take some unique pictures, lose yourself into the beauty and uniqueness of the place. One of the places to see before you die. This mysterious place hides many secrets and for an unskilled eye it might appear as just another beautiful medieval jewel. Yet, behind the walls history pierces through in many ways. Here is a list of 5 interesting facts about the Corvin castle which you should definitely keep an eye out for when you go visit.

1.The torture chamber

Although it was recently created, the torture chamber lies on the very spot of the castle’s prison and it hosts and exhibits many torture instruments which were used on the prisoners in the early days. Tools like the Spanish boot, icon  pyramid with thorns, needles, pliers and other such things will help you recreate the mood of the prison.

2.The well

The well, typical for fortresses or castles in the region of Transylvania, is also a famous execution place where Turkish prisoners were killed. The legend stated that the prisoners were promised freedom after they dig the well and find water. Unfortunate for them, they had to dig for 30 M until they reached water and in the mean time the one who promised them freedom had died so their promise wasn’t kept. Archeologists discovered inscriptions on the inside of the well from Turkish prisoners.

3.The dining hall

The dining hall lies right under the Knights hall on the first floor and it is a good example of luxurious and rafinement in the architecture in the middle ages.

4.Knights hall and the secret passage

The Knights hall connected to the Diet hall create one beautiful ensemble and have armours and weapons exhibitions. The place also has a secret passage which was used in the early days to run outside the fortresses’ walls in case of an attack.

5.The chapel

Built in a gothic style in two stages, the last one being fished during the reign of Iancu de Hunedoara, the chapel has an interesting altar and hosts the replica of the Iancu’s sarcophagus which originally lies in the Catholic church in Alba Iulia.

1.Leave your toys at home

Although travelling with your small children can be fun, on a plane it is advised to keep things quiet and not bother the other passengers. Even though your children will feel better if they have their toys with them you should limit the number of things you bring on the plane so you won’t have a hard time picking up after them when you have to get off the plane.

2.Too many bags is not an option

Everyone needs room for their bags so be polite and pack less. Even if we are talking about your hand bag or the bags that go to the flight deck you need to keep in mind that you shouldn’t carry too many bags with you. Travel light and only bring on the plane the most necessary things.

3.Smelly food belongs in the kitchen

If you get hungry try eating a sandwich a well packed shake or an energy bar but avoid cooked food or smelly food that might turn the whole plane into a kitchen. The smell is not the only issue, you have to keep in mind that there might be people who are afraid of flying and they already have a hard time adjusting to the altitude and the last thing they need is the smell of bacon or onion to accompany them for the next hour.

4.Perfume

Don’t use too much perfume when you travel by plane and leave the bottle at home since it is highly flammable and might cause unwanted accidents. Plus the smell of the perfume might trigger nausea for other passengers.
